SPRING BREAK = TRUE HAPPINESS

Spring Break started yesterday at 3:00pm (Hooray!).  Today we went to the Chattanooga Zoo with Neena, Zady, and Joyce.  Iza had a wonderful time.  This was just a little taste of summer for me.  I have not had a summer off from work in 5 years.  I am so looking forward to this summer at home with Miss Izabel!

The Monkeys were first on the list.  Izabel loves the monkeys but she has been afraid of them ever since our trip last spring to the Knoxville Zoo (you can read about it here).

The petting zoo is always a favorite too.

On to the Peacocks, Turkeys, & Deer

Ms. Joyce gave the girls money to throw away make a wish with.  The girls really liked it too.  

Birds anyone?

I really only like looking at the mammals.  

I hate snakes!!!! Ms. Joyce & Neena had to take the girls to see the reptiles.  Sorry, but I had to skip out.

Izabel's absolute favorite part of the zoo was the carousel.  

The Chattanooga Zoo was missing one of Iza's favorite animals so she had to settle for this instead.

We had a nice time.  The weather was great but the Chattanooga Zoo is very small. It is nice for a small/quick outing but Monkey Girl likes her animals so we will have to visit a larger zoo sometime soon. On the way home we went to eat at El Monterrey Authentic Mexican.  Yummy! 

Knoxville Zoo

Zady, Jennifer, Tim, & the boys met us at the Knoxville Zoo. 
We spent the weekend at Pigeon Forge with Neena. While at the pool I dropped my new Nikon camera in the water.  I could cry.  I am sure the warranty will not cover water damage. The only pictures I have from the zoo are the ones Jennifer took. Thanks, Jenn for sharing. 


All Iza could talk about was getting to see the monkeys at the zoo. she was so excited. 


Izabel road the camel at the zoo and LOVED it!  She wanted to ride again when it was over. I was very surprised. I was afraid she would cry. Hooray for Izabel!

One of the gorillas outside really scared Izabel.  Everyone was looking at the gorilla in the outside area and all of a sudden he came running across the field as fast as he could and jumped and hit the glass wall.  It made a very loud sound.  Everyone jumped back.  It scared Iza so much that she started crying and did not want to look at the other monkeys. I even tried to bribe her bought her a small toy monkey to get her more interested in looking at the other monkeys but I am afraid this incident may ruined her love of monkeys.  :(

I had to stand outside the indoor gorilla and chimp area with Izabel.  She was terrified.

Izabel did not want to sit on that frog.  She started crying before I sat her down there. Of course she did not want to stop sliding.  She was  ready for a nap by this time these pictures were taken.
